FAQs. respectfully, WTF.

some clarification. limited enthusiasm.

personal essays. legal records. institutional accountability. some extremely specific bullsh✶t.

i would have preferred a less informative life. anyway.

q. so… what the f✘ck is this?

a. a personal site about what happens after “just leave.” some pages are essays, some are records, and some are me making a joke because if i narrate my own life in a completely neutral voice i will actually evaporate.

selected records, personal essays, commentary, and things i find funny despite having an objectively unpleasant time.

i’m a mother, law student, and small-business owner.

apparently that is enough for a full-time administrative burden.

q. okay, but why put this online?

a. because the public version of a story gets very clean once everyone removes the part where you were actually there. i’m keeping the records, the commentary, and the context in the same room.

i care about coercive control, financial dependence, access to justice, and what “just leave” requires when you have a child and no reliable support.

“be the bigger person” is not a safety plan.

(does “bigger” come with childcare or are we just handing out slogans again.)

q. wait. are you actually a lawyer?

a. not yet. law student. love the material. still doing the f✘cking reading. enrollment is not licensure.

i’ve spent multiple semesters trying to attend class without affordable childcare. sometimes that meant following a lecture while toy blocks were being launched at me.

actual blocks. she had a contribution. it was airborne.

textbooks were their own subplot: for several semesters i couldn’t afford the assigned books until midterm—or nearly the end.

the required reading was required. my ability to purchase it was apparently a separate issue.

so yes, i want to become a lawyer. i’m working toward it while parenting, litigating, and figuring out how to pay for the basic conditions under which studying is meant to occur.

i’m grateful to the professors and people at syracuse who keep making room for me. (some have seen me cry. several times. hi. thank you. fml.)

yes, i care about access to justice.

i would also appreciate access to the f✘cking textbook.

not a lawyer. not legal advice. no attorney-client relationship. currently working on the prerequisites.

q. receipts = proven? breathe.

a. not automatically.

a pleading is a party’s claims or defenses. a docket is procedural history. neither is a judicial finding. court terminology ↗

“documented” means i can identify a source—not that every assertion in that source has been established as true.

an inference is my interpretation; a judicial finding is what the court actually determined. i distinguish them.

i can be pissed off and still attribute a statement correctly.

q. “imo” fixes everything, right?

a. you can call it whatever you want. the label does not decide the legal question.

describing a statement as “opinion” does not automatically protect a defamatory factual assertion. Milkovich, 497 U.S. 1, 18–19 ↗

“in my opinion” is three words. please manage your expectations.

q. why are you joking about serious sh✶t?

a. because i understand how serious it is. i was there.

humor does not mean i enjoyed what happened, consented to it, or consider the consequences minor.

i can discuss coercive control accurately and still say:

babe, what the actual f✘ck.

the terminology and the reaction are both intentional.

q. why is half this sh✶t blacked out?

a. privacy. safety. applicable restrictions. occasionally, basic decency.

children’s identifying details, private addresses, account information, and protected records do not belong here. possessing a document is not, by itself, a reason to publish it.

you can understand my experience without knowing my child’s schedule.

be so f✘cking serious.

q. should i message them? absolutely not.

a. absolutely the f✘ck not. not on my behalf.

do not contact, threaten, investigate, expose, or harass anyone for me. that includes parties, witnesses, relatives, attorneys, and employers.

i’m not requesting intervention.

(i already have enough f✘cking correspondence.)

q. what if you f✘cked up a fact?

a. send the page, the specific statement, and a reliable source supporting the correction.

factual errors should be corrected. interpretations can be challenged. tell me what you think the material supports and why.

“i don’t like your tone” is a different submission.

received.

q. how do i help without adding bullsh✶t?

a. offer something specific: groceries, childcare, pet care, a ride, document scanning, or a useful legal referral.

then follow through.

please do not make an overwhelmed person design, delegate, and supervise your entire contribution.

i am already the project manager. unpaid, obviously.

q. girl. are you f✘cking okay?

a. operational.

(please do not turn this into a follow-up question. i was doing so fucking well with “operational.”)

selected material, not the complete record. personal commentary, not legal advice. keep dates, source labels, and redactions intact when sharing.

✶ citations where necessary. profanity where appropriate.
